About Belle's Tower

Introducing, Belle's Tower, a remarkable and unique initiative that is deeply committed to enhancing the well-being of our community's seniors through a holistic approach to memory care.

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Lafayette, Belle's Tower is Acadiana's first memory care facility, and it is designed to provide a fulfilling and joyful experience for our cherished clients. Our mission is to prioritize the physical and mental health of our residents by creating an environment that fosters a healthy lifestyle and engages them both physically and mentally.

At Belle's Tower, we have carefully crafted a wellness program that offers a wide range of activities and services tailored to address the unique needs of our clients. These include brain-stimulating activities, guided Tai Chi sessions, and the therapeutic benefits of live musical performances by local artists.

Our residents also have the opportunity to engage with local artisans in craft corners, participate in supervised baking tutorials, and savor the simple pleasures of tea-time moments. Our dedicated Activity Liaison is committed to curating suitable physical activities that match each resident's preferences and abilities.

The need for Belle's Tower, Acadiana's first memory care facility, arose from a deep recognition of the unique and pressing challenges faced by individuals suffering from dementia and their families. People living with dementia experience a range of physical, emotional, and cognitive difficulties that require specialized care and support. Here's why we saw the need for Belle's Tower:

1. Quality of Life:

Individuals with dementia often struggle with day-to-day activities and can experience feelings of confusion and frustration. Providing a dedicated memory care facility ensures that they receive the specialized environment needed to maintain their quality of life and dignity.

Ida Belle Pesson

The inspiration behind Belle's Tower comes from the remarkable life of Ida Belle Pesson. Known as "Belle," she was a force to be reckoned with—a strong, patient, and deeply compassionate woman who provided unwavering support to her family and community. She was a source of strength, faith, and companionship for those in need.

As Belle aged, her caretaker was determined to honor her wish of not being placed in a nursing home. Although Belle never had the opportunity to step into her forever home at Belle's Tower, her legacy lives on through our mission to provide quality of life to those in need, just as she did throughout her lifetime.

Belle's Tower is housed in a beautiful 2500 sq. ft. above-ground home located at 306 Monroe St. in Lafayette, LA. The lush memory garden surrounding our facility creates a tranquil environment, offering peaceful seating areas for our clients to enjoy.
